Australia Trip: Day 2 (10 Jan 08) - Arrived Sydney

Day 2 - 10 January 2008 (Thursday)
Arrived Sydney at 08:25 - Check-in - Makeup & Hairstyle Trial Session - Meeting with AMOK

(Back-dated)

After a 9 hours flight, we finally arrived Sydney. We're so tired actually but the excitement towards our wedding have override all the things.

We took the taxi in the airport to the apartment hotel to settle down first. As we've requested the early check-in, the rooms should be ready though it's only 10:30 in the morning. Expectedly, we can have early check-in. The Fraser Suite Sydney is located at the Kent Street and it's very close to the QVB, Circular Quay and Sydney Tower. As we'd like to have more space for shooting on our wedding day, I've choosen the "One-bedroom Premium Suite" which is the biggest room available for this hotel. The room costed AUD381 per night included breakfast and a car parking space. Our rooms is on 33rd Floor and the room number is 3308. Shelly and Lok's is located on 34th Floor and the room number is 3408.

The room is so beautiful and roomy with floor to ceiling window wall that can allow plenty of sunlight going into the room. We can have no complaint about the location and the room size for such price. However, for the staffs' services, still have a lot to improve. The staffs are not so friendly and helpful!

As we're so tired and the king size bed seems so comfortable, we decided to have a rest before going out to have the trial session. We then have a "quick charge" and wake up at 13:45.

We've booked the trial session with Marie and Tasleema. Our trial session will be done in Arte Salon in Circular Quay area. We're a little bit rush to the booking as the booking should be at 15:00 and we woke up at 13:45. We even have no time to have our lunch. Finally, we decided to have some fast food. Unexpectedly, we have "fish & chips" as our first meal in Sydney!! The "fish and chips" costed AUD9 and it taste good. Maybe the seafood is really good in Australia.

We arrived the Salon at 15:15 and Marie & Tasleema are waiting for us already. I didn't know how they look like before as I search for their services through internet. All our communications are through emails. Tasleema is a very stylish and pretty girl that we've never thought of. Marie is a very nice and happy woman. At that moment, I think my choice is right!

Tasleema do the makeup trial with me first while Marie is having the hairdo for Shelly. Just about 25 mins, Tasleema have finished her job. Oh, quite good, so natural and she understand my need. I and Shelly then swapped our position. It's my turn to have the hairdo. As I have sent some reference photos to Marie to discuss my hairstyle before, Marie do know how to manage my hair at once. She's so professional and she designed 2 different hairstyles for me. I love both of them especially the second up-style one.

We finished our trial session at around 17:15 and we walk alongside the Circular Quay to take some photos of the beautiful harbour and Harbour Bridge. As Rachel from AMOK (our wedding coordinator and production crew in Sydney) is having a wedding shooting job and is only available after 19:30, we decided to find something to eat first. We walk to the China Town and have our dinner at a Food Court. Though it's in Food Court, the foods are so expensive. Everything costed AUD10 for average. We've only picked a Korean Tu Fu hot pot and a fried rice.

After the dinner, we've go to Coles Supermarket to grab some drinks to the hotel. We've dated Rachel at 21:30 at our hotel room to discuss the rundown on tomorrow.

We know we couldn't compare AMOK with Simon. Simon is too professional while AMOK is so fresh in photography. Actually, I'm a bit regret to use AMOK as our production crew. I didn't aware too much when I first start to prepare our wedding. We even didn't know Simon when we started to plan for this wedding. The only focus point is the budget. Anyway, just go ahead as everything is ready now. We tried to brief AMOK about our style of photography. Just try our best and hope that the photos wouldn't be too bad. They have good equipment but I believed that they don't have good skills.

Rachel left at 23:00 and I haven't got my WG, EG and Sunny's suit ironed. In addition, I've tailor made some gifts (soaps) for our guests and I even haven't pack them well! Oh my goodness, I have many things to do but I need to sleep early!

It's almost 03:20 when I finally can go to bed!! So excited, how will be the wedding tomorrow (actually is today)!
