Australia Trip: Day 3 (11 Jan 08) - 111 Wedding Day

Day 3 - 11 January 2008 (Friday) Wedding Big Day
Makeup & Hairstyling at 08:30 - Ceremony at Captain Cook Cruise at 12:30 - Photo Shooting at Balmain (16:00 - 21:00)

What a lovely day!! It's our Big Day!! So excited and nervous. I'll become Mrs Yip after today!! I told myself whatever what happened, whatever the shooting result is, I should enjoy the day cos I'm the shining star of today!!

We wake up at 08:00 and waiting for Tasleema & Marie. AMOK should arrive at 09:00. Tasleema & Marie arrived on time and I started to have makeup first. Tasleema is too skillful and she've almost finished before AMOK arrived. I'm a bit unhappy with that, AMOK arrived after 09:00 and is not a full team. There's only a photographer Leo. He said Rachel is coming cos she need to go and rent another DV. Later on, the full team arrived at around 09:40. Rachel, Kaka, Leo and Andrew will be responsible for our wedding. Except Andrew, all are freelance and is really not a professional. How can I trust them? Anyway, we've no choice at the moment!!

As expected, they don't know how to explore the elements in the weddings though we've set up some for them. They haven't take much photos when we're still in the hotel for preparation.

We left the hotel at around 11:15 and we need to arrive the King St Wharf at around 11:45. In our wedding package, AMOK will provide transportation for us. All their means of transportation is their own private cars - Honda Jazz! A very compact car but need to carry 5 people for each car. So disappointed!

When we arrived the King Street Wharf, we got off first and AMOK said they need to park the car first. We then walk slowly towards the pier first. As we've 2 couples, we're really outstanding and many peoples are watching us! There's an old man holding a camera and trying to take photos of us. He smiles to us and come to talk to us. He's so nice and friendly. He told us he came for vacations with his wife and he've got married for over 40 years. Thus, he wants to give his heartfelt blessing to us. We have chat for a while and he told us he have been lived in Lamma Island before! So, he feels so warm when he knows we're from Hong Kong!!

After a happy chat with the old man, we go forward to the cruise. Our celebrant Jean Dalton and her husband Brian, Angelina (wedding event coordinator, Captain Cook) are waiting for us at the Pier. The Sydney MV 2000 is where we hold our wedding ceremony! We will have our ceremony at the top deck and will have the lunch with our guests at the Private Dinning Room.

It's a sunny day and weather is so good!! We discussed briefly with Jean about our ceremony procedures. As Shelly & Lok will only do the blessing ceremony, so Jean recommend they will do the ceremony first. We can then observe for a while and get ourselves well prepared.

The ceremony started when all others tourist board on the cruise. It's so windy at the top deck but we do love the environment there. We don't want to have our ceremony inside the dinning room though Jean have suggested that. We have our ceremony done when the cruise is outside the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. At this beautiful place, this beautiful moment, I become "Mrs Yip"! I can never forgot the moment when I and Sunny are saying "I Do". The ceremony is so cozy. At that moment, I've forgot all the imperfections of the wedding!

After the ceremony, we all back to the dinning room and Jean led us for the toasting throughout the cruise!! We received blessings for people come from all over the world. We even have the blessing from a HK family! So wonderful.

After the toasting, we started to have our lunch at the Private Dinning Room. AMOK haven't take any photos for us when we're having the lunch. Another disappointment.

We drop off the cruise at 15:30 and after taking several photos at the Circular Quay, we back to the hotel to get the hairstyle and makeup change. Again, AMOK is not with us when we are in the hotel. They back to the hotel when we've finished all the changing.

We decided to go to Balmain for more photo shooting. I don't want to have common photos at common shooting places like Opera House, Watson Bay, Harbour Bridge etc. Thus, I have don't some research before. I prefer to go to Balmain or Paddington. Finally, Sunny have picked Balmain cos he do love the houses there.

Except for the photo taking skills, we do enjoy the moment in Balmain. The weather is so good and the Balmain is really a nice place to visit. People around do give us their blessings and some girls even admire my evening gown and my style. I feel so proud that even for different cultures, I've pick a good choice!

It's already 18:30 and we decided to find a nice place to have dinner. We finally got a very nice restaurant. We've a very nice dinner there. After the dinner, it's almost 21:00. It's time to back to the hotel. Our wedding day ends at around 22:00.

From now on, we're Mr & Mrs Yip! Congrats!
