Gowns from Ratna Dolma

One of my best friend is now planning her wedding next year.  Of course, I'll help her in giving all my past experiences to her in choosing gowns, finding the ceremony place, planning the honeymoon etc.

In early May, I have taken her to visit Ratna Dolma.  This was the first time for her to visit the gown shop.  She've tried on some gowns on the day.  However, some gowns at the moment didn't fit her size and thus, she ask me to put on the gowns for her references.

The above 2 were my favorite too!  However, as the wedding gown didn't suit my wedding theme in Australia, I ever thought of trying that.  For the yellow color evening gown, I've tried before and of course, love that so much!!

Thanks Ellen for letting me to try her gowns again though I'm not the bride this time.  Ellen have told us and show us the pics that the gown of a famous poeple (keep secret) was from her shop!!  What a surprise that people of that rich will visit Ellen's shop rather than to ask for a famous designer to design for her.

Videos & Photos From AMOK, Australia

Waited almost 5 months, we finally got the photo CD, photo slideshow and video clips from AMOK on Friday.  Just have a quick scan on the videos to see how's the quality.  As expected, not a professional standard.  You know, Sunny is a producer and we both worked in the media industry for more than 10 years, we do have high expectation and standard.

As we've two couples in the same wedding, we got 2 camcorder to shoot for us.  From the clips, there was some clips from Andrew's camcorder missing!  Anyway, just need to check once again and see if I need to trace with the clips again.

So tired in running for this.  Hope all videos were in the DVD and we just missed them when we have the first scan!!

Enjoy!

P.S. May have another version later cos Sunny may re-edit the slideshow according to his style! Just wait.

Oh my god! Again?

Just received the international recognized legal Marriage Certificate from Australia.  This Certificate contained more detailed information of the bride and groom.  I checked the information as once to make sure all the information are correct.

Oh my god!  My date of birth was wrong!!  I born 4 months earlier!!  Again, I needed to email Jean.  Our marriage is really a memorable one!!

Buffet Dinner with JiFung Guys

Jifung is a group of friends of Sunny.  They met each other in 1995 by joining the Outward Bound activity.  This gang becomes my best friends also.

Lok is one of the member in JiFung and he will accompany his fiancee to have the ceremony with us together in Captain Cook Cruise.

Before we started our journey, other members from JiFung have a dinner with us and present to us their best wishes and wedding gifts!  We didn't expect they'll give us wedding gifts as we will not have banquet in HK.  Thank you all of you, JiFung guys.  So, we promised to invite them for a dinner after we were back.

On 1 March 2008, we've buffet dinner in Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel.  The buffet was good and the mood was good also!

Wow, what a MISTAKE?

We didn't take out the Marriage Certificate after we've signed it on our Big Date. Today, as I needed to repack some documents, I take out the Certificate to have a look. Oh my god! I & Sunny got married one year earlier?? The date was misprinted as 11 January 2007! As this Certificate is an official one, how can that be wrong? I told Sunny about that and we all think that it's amazing and our wedding was really a memorable one.

I then emailed Jean (our celebrant) immediately telling her about this. She apologized to us and said that she forgot to update her template cos our wedding was at the beginning of 2008. She asked us to post back our certificate and she will issue another one for us.

So funny and I think not many people have shared this experience as we!

The 1st Valentine's Day for Mr & Mrs Yip

This is the first Valentine's Day after our wedding but actually, it's our 6th Valentine's Day!

As usual, we haven't got any special arrangement as we both think that it's the day for the shops and restaurants to earn money from the poor couples. It's not worth to spend more money on the same services and food. So, we both compromise to grab some decent food only.

As I have an interview at the SUP Tower in North Point at 19:00 and hopefully I would finish it on 20:00, Dad Dad decided to go for gym first and wait for me at North Point. We met at 20:10 and I just want to have Japanese cuisine. We then walked from Fortress Hill to Tin Hua to search for a decent Japanese restaurant. However, as expected, all filled with couples and most of the restaurants needed to book in prior. I then changed my mind and would only ask for a comfortable place to dine.

At the end, we can only find a place here:

扒王之王
Steak Expert
銅鑼灣 香港銅鑼灣高士威道高華樓地下
G/F., Causeway Tower, Causeway Rd.,Causeway Bay, H.K., Causeway Bay

We don't know even for Steak Expert, only Valentine's Dinner is available. The Valentine set for an adult is HK$228 plus 10% surcharge. That means, totally HK$502 for a couple. So expensive but really didn't worth it!

Here were what we have:

Appetizer: Smoked Salmon with green salad.
Soup: Mixed mushrooms cream soup.
Main Course: 1. Shallow fried goose liver & grilled Tenderloin with whole black peppercorn sauce.
2. Grilled U.S. Sirlion with red wine sauce.
Dessert: Cheese mousse coated with crispy chocolate (in heart shape)
Tea or Coffee

Nothing special!! Just like fast food. The salad, bread and soup were serve at the same time! I still haven't finished my salad but the main course is waiting in front of me!! What can I comment? I could only say: "It's faster than dine in a fast food restaurant!"

For the taste, as expected, as usual! We requested the steaks to be in medium rare but they're almost well done!

Anyway, this's the first Valentine's Day for Mr. & Mrs Yip. We hope that we can have time to prepare our own meal next year! Dad Dad, I guaranteed that: Mine will be better!! Ha ha ha!

Our honeymoon have came to an end. We took the domestic flight to Sydney to transit for an international flight. The meals for this flight were not good. Luckily, we've taken ramen in the Sydney International Airport before we board on the flight! Why we still have time to take ramen?? Just because the flight to HK has been delayed for 45 mins!

After the long flight, we finally have back to Hong Kong. The weather in Hong Kong was not good. It was only 14 degree in HK. We have just came back from a warm area and is now countering the cold current in HK.

Anyway, we'll never forgot how wonderful this trip was!! We're now planning to go to Tasmania again in near future!!

This was the last full days of our trip in Brisbane. We designed to have a Hot-air Balloon trip in early morning. However, it was cancelled due to the bad weather.

We then decided to rent a full size 4 doors car at Avis to drive to Gold Coast.

Gold Coast was too commercial and have lots of tourists.  As this was not planned, we just try to have an ad hoc itinerary.  The first place we visit was the Outlet.  However, that was really a Outlet.  All the goods were overpriced. We then proceed to our next station - Surfers Paradise!  The coastal line was very very long for the Surfers Paradise but except this, nothing special.  The weather was not good and actually I think the beach in Tasmania was much beautiful and stunning than the Surfers Paradise.

As this was our last day of stay, we decided to have a seafood buffet no matter it was so expensive. We've the buffet at the Rez 252 Restaurant at Courtyard Marriott Gold Coast and it costed each of us AUD$39 without a drink.

Our honeymoom trip have came to an end and we all didn't want to back to HK.

We've joined a Dolphin Wild Cruise to see the dolphin on 20 Jan 2008. We've met a family who have migrated to Melbourne for a year. The family was having their holiday in Brisbane and Gold Coast.

The weather on that day was not good and it was raining suddenly. However, we do have lots of fun there.

During the tour, we can join freely the boom-netting, snorkeling, fish feeding, sand surfing / climbing, smimming...... The most interesting thing is the sand climbing. the slope of the sand dune was so deep and it was really hard to climb to the top. We almost spent 45mins to climb up to the top of the dune. Wow, the view was stunning! After some rest on the top, we run down quickly to the bottom of the dune. It takes less than 3 minutes to go down!! It was so excited and we never tried that before! This was the most interesting thing that I played in the Island.

We were so tired on the day!

On 19 Jan, we left Tasmania and have the domestic flight in early morning to Brisbane.  This should be our last stop in our honeymoon journey!  Oh, NO!

The weather in Brisbane was entirely different from Tasmania.  It's hot and wet!  We didn't like such kind of weather and thus, didn't have mood to plan for the journey here at the moment.

We've chosen to stay at the Medina Executive Apartment for 3 days.  After we've checked-in the room, we went outside to find something to eat.  The apartment was very close to China Town and so, we went to China Town and grab something.  We have chosen a restaurant where we could have Thai noodles.

After the meal, Lok & Shelly were so tired and they decided to back to the apartment.  However,  we didn't want to waste the time.  We haven't been to Brisbane before and thus we decide to have some city walk around the CBD in Brisbane.  The CBD area of Brisbane was not big and we almost have go through every places before 22:00.  As it was Saturday, the South Bank area was full of people.  It was so funny that there was an artificial beach in South Bank!  You can just walk down and feel the sands.  At that night, we just have grabbed a slide of pizza as our dinner.
